Cultural Alliance will host annual CelebrateARTS! Week of Free Cultural Events
York, PA – The Cultural Alliance of York County will kick-off their 2020 campaign with a full week of free cultural events, January 19th-25th. CelebrateARTS Week will provide residents of all ages the opportunity to enjoy cultural experiences while celebrating our community’s rich culture and vitality. Sponsored in 2020 by Glatfelter Insurance Group and M&T Bank, this annual event builds long-lasting personal connections without the barrier of cost.
The 2020 CelebrateARTS! Week will include:
Sunday, January 19th: 2:00pm – Teaching Artist Panel Discussion at York Art Association and
3:00pm – Bomba and Mexican Folk Dance Workshops and Celebration at CASA York Welcome Center
Monday, January 20th: 7:00-9:00pm – Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Day Celebration at Union Lutheran Church presented by Union Lutheran Church, The Movement, and Weary Arts Group
Tuesday, January 21st: 7:00pm – York Story Slam at Holy Hound
Wednesday, January 22nd: 6:00-8:00pm – Poetry Showcase and Assemblage Gallery Reception conjunction with York College, Center for Community Engagement
Thursday, January 23rd: 7:00pm-8:00pm – Hip Hop Dance Workshop with Greater York Dance
Friday, January 24th– 5:30-8:30pm – Willy Wonka Family Night featuring crafts with Creative York and movie screening at The Strand Theatre at the Appell Center for Performing Arts
Saturday, January 25th – 10:00am-1:00pm – Open dress rehearsal of “Bolero” with the York Symphony Orchestra and 10:00-2:00pm – “Adventures in the Chocolate Factory” Family Day at the Agricultural and Industrial Museum, hosted by the York County History Center, including an instrument petting zoo with the York Junior Symphony Orchestra and York Youth Symphony Orchestra

Founded as a United Arts Fund in 1999, the Cultural Alliance’s annual campaign currently supports eight partner agencies that are essential to arts and culture in our community and over the last 20 years has invested over $10.4 million in cash and $2.2 million in in-kind support for the arts. Under its new more inclusive and diverse operating model, The Cultural Alliance will be expanding its funding to further grow and strengthen arts and culture in York County.
