Announcing our 10 Local Performers for this year’s YorVoice Musical Showcase

The Cultural Alliance of York County is hosting their 4th annual singing competition on March 24th from 7:30-9:30 pm at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts. “YorVoice” is a friendly competition bringing the community together to enjoy listening to a night filled with talented musicians who want to share their love of music with others. The YorVoice mission is to inspire York pride, celebrate the arts and their impact on our community, highlight local talent, and most importantly, raise awareness for our 2018 Cultural Alliance Annual Campaign.

YorVoice will once again be emceed by the hilarious and unpredictable Chris Garrett of WPMT FOX 43, and will feature live performances by house band Boompop Coalition.


This year’s YorVoice performers are:

PAPERHEARTOur 2016 People’s Choice winner, PAPERHEART is made of a group of talented Glatfelter Paper employees that have formed a band to perform at YorVoice. All accomplished musicians on their own, we are excited to see them return to the YorVoice stage.


Caroline Wolfe: Second time to the YorVoice stage, our 2017 YorVoice Runner Up is excited to be partnering up with Menchey Music for the second time. Caroline studies at Oberlin Conservatory and previously graduated from Dallastown Area High School. Welcome back, Caroline!


Scarlet Rose: New to the YorIt singing competition is Britney Brooks, a police officer at William Penn Senior High School performing as Scarlet Rose. She will be performing a cover by La’ Porsha Renae called “Lock You Down” accompanied by two William Penn Senior High School dance squads “Flight Crew” and “The York High Movement.” Her team is sponsored by CGA Law Firm.


Beaver Street Brethren: Made up of friends and open mic partners, Andrew Gobel and Soji Otuyelu are performing together to celebrate live music sponsored by York Traditions Bank.


Gerald Eyster: First time YorVoice contestant bringing some flavor to the stage with New York, New York by Frank Sinatra. We can’t wait to see what he is going to bring to the table!


Jessica Pastelak: First to YorVoice, but not new to the stage. Jessica Pastelak is a multi talented singer, guitarist, and pianist. She is currently a senior at Dover High School, and is being sponsored by the Graham Group.


896 Southbound: A bluegrass band made up of Glatfelter Insurance Group employees. They are excited to make their YorVoice debut!


YCRB:  The York College Division of Music has put together an amazing band of talented music industry students to for YCRB – York College Rock Band! This will be their second time performing at YorVoice, but this time with an all-new lineup of musicians!


Kenneth White, Sr.: Kenneth is excited to perform for the first time on the Strand Stage for YorVoice. He might be new to YorVoice, but he has plenty of practice from singing with his church choir.


JC Fisher Band: Local rockers Scott Fisher, Mike Argento, Monte Carroll, Greg Moomaw, and lead vocalist and drummer Jerry Cohen cover many different genres. A band that loves entertaining the crowd by taking recognizable songs and putting a fun twist on them to make them new and fresh! They love putting on local shows around the community.


Tickets are on sale now! General admission tickets for YorVoice are $20. When you purchase five or more tickets are just $15 each. We now offer a VIP ticket option for $50, the ticket includes a meet & greet cocktail reception with judges and teams prior to showtime.
