The Cultural Alliance Announces Creative Sector Flex Fund Recipients

York, PA – The Cultural Alliance of York County is pleased to announce the recipients of the brand new Creative Sector Flex Fund grant in York, Adams, Franklin and Fulton Counties. In partnership with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, these $5,000 operational grants are awarded to non-profit organizations with strong arts programming.

A total of $60,000 was awarded in the 4-county region to small and mid-sized organizations. This grant program was created by the PA Council on the Arts to address the changing needs of dynamic PA arts organizations.

The recipients of the Creative Sector Flex Fund are:

  • Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro
  • Crispus Attucks York
  • Downtown Chambersburg Inc
  • Gettysburg Brass Band Festival
  • Gettysburg Community Concert Association
  • The Grotto Community Center
  • The Institute
  • Theatre Arts for Everyone
  • Waldo’s and Company
  • York Art Association
  • York Jewish Community Center
  • York Youth Symphony Orchestra

“Smaller cultural organizations or programs can often struggle to access meaningful operational dollars.” Rita Whitney, Communications and Engagement Director at the Cultural Alliance of York County. “Our partnership with the PCA, including the Flex Fund program, ensures that dollars from our state budget are distributed equitably.”

Applications for the Creative Sector Flex Fund will reopen in June 2024 for the 2024/2025 grant cycle. Organizations with strong arts programming and an average annual revenue between $10,000-$200,000 are encouraged to apply. All grant funds must be matched by the organization, and used for the following calendar year. This program is administered by the Cultural Alliance in York, Adams, Franklin, and Fulton Counties. The process begins with a letter of interest (LOI) to determine eligibility.

Founded as a United Arts Fund in 1999, the Cultural Alliance’s annual campaign currently supports arts organizations and artists that are essential to arts and culture in our community and Over the past 25 years invested $12 million in cash and $2.5 million in in-kind support for the arts. Through critical operational grants, the Cultural Alliance is the lifeline for arts and culture in York County.
